She’d changed,
Not that she was to be blamed
But it was the expected
Why should it not be?
Hasn’t change been the only constant

It wasn’t her that changed,
But the situation;
And sometime they make the difference
In between the inch and the feet
Perhaps, it was the great perhaps

Friends to lover,
Lover to friends
To back to square two – lovers
Was beautiful to see
How platonic relations are much like plankton

She’s still the kindred soul,
With that chirpy smile
And the demeanor
But –
Change is the only constant
